Welcome to my blog!!

My name is Cristina Llera, I am an illustrator recently graduated in Design at the Complutense University of Madrid. In the third year of my degree I did an exchange year in Groningen, The Netherlands, where I studied illustration and animation at the Minerva Academy.

What do I do?

Although my main field is illustration, I consider myself a multidisciplinary designer/artist. I have made animations with various methods, such as 2D with crayons, stop-motion, vector animation, motion graphics, 3D animation using 3dsMax or gifs with Photoshop.

I am also interested in other fields such as sculpture, printmaking with techniques like silkscreen and linocut. I love mainly textile printing and I have made several designs for t-shirts and totebags. You can see some of these designs in the textile section of my portfolio.

I like to design and work creating with my hands. Sometimes I make my own notebooks, crafts, and I like to try new materials.

What techniques do I use to illustrate?

My favourite medium is graphite pencil for drawing. I also like to use bic pens that don’t allow you to erase but with which you can make gradients. For colouring and painting I have used watercolours and coloured pencils on many occasions, but lately I am learning and experimenting with digital colouring on my scanned drawings or drawing directly on my graphic tablet.

My hobbies

Cuando no estoy dibujando, me gusta leer, ver series, cocinar, pasear por el campo, hacer fotos, pasar tiempo con mis amigos y esquiar cuando se puede.
